Observation of World Mental Health Day 1997
The World Mental Health Day was celebrated on October 10 at Kanakakkunnu Palace the theme of WMD 1997 was the 'Children and Mental Health'. It was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister for Health Shri. A.C. Shanmughadas and Dr.V.Suraraj Mani, Secretary, KSMHA presented the theme
The State Mental Health Authority was the Co-sponsor of 'Outside In' International conference of International Mental Health Authority at Techno park Thiruvananthapuram. from 2nd - 6th February 1998.
World Mental Health Day was celebrated on October 9-10 at Kanakakkunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram. On this occasion a two-day Mental Health Exhibition was organised by participating various Governmental and Non-governmental organisations like Mental Health Centre Thiruvananthapuram, Department of Psychology University of Kerala and ADIC India.

2003 World Mental Health Day was observed on October 10 at Institution of Engineers Hall, Thiruvananthapuram. Inauguration was done by Sri.Kadavoor Sivadasan, Honourable Minister for Electricity who is charge of Health and Family Welfare. The theme 'Emotional and Behavioral Disorders of Children and Adolescents' was presented by Dr. D. Raju, Secretary, KSMHA

World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2007 Inaugurated by Smt. P.K Sreemathi Hon Minster for Health, The Governor of Kerala. at VJT hall, Thiruvananthapuram. Theme was 'Mental Health in a Changing world: The Impact of Culture and Diversity' In this connection a panel discussion was held on 'Religious practices in Mental Health' in which the religious leaders, Rt. Rev. Dr. J. W. Gladstone, (Bishop, CSI South Kerala Diocese), Swami Santheep Chaithanya (Chairman, School of Bhagawath Geetha, Thiruvananthapuram) and Hamsa Moulavi Farooqui( Palayam Imam) participated.
